Agreed, 93/90/6 is a terrible line
Michalek has also looked terrible |

I'm getting a Mike Hoffman jersey, he could be the fastest player in the NHL.
Cheers to Mike and cheers to the Senators - not only a nice late draft pick but amazing player development with the Hoff, he could of had 5 goals in the first 2 games of the season so nice to see him get his career going last night |

Put Chaisson with legs, move Ryan beside Zibby on the right side.Put milo or hoff on the left |

we're happy with the wins, but there shots against is still way too high. have we even had a game yet this year where we limited the SA to less than 30? |

No mention of Michalek? The guy needs to be scratched |

I was happy with the performance for the most part, but that Zibby line just doesn't do it for me either. Zibby is more of a crash and bang center man as you said, and I'm not sure what changed because last year he loved to carry the puck.. For the time being, maybe reunite the MTR line to ignite Ryan a little bit, then try Hoffman- legwand - stone on the second as Legs and Hoff seem to have some good chemistry. That leaves us with a third of Chiasson - Zibby - Lazar. Lazar is more of a puck possession guy than Zibby, so I can see Lazar slowly taking Zibby's spot at center and them moving Zibby to wing.
By the half way point of the season I wouldn't mind:
Chiasson - Lazar - Zibby as a third line |

in the third the Blue Jackets were credited with 17 shots but it just didn't feel that way. - JaredCrozier
Did you watch the third period? The Jackets pasted the Sens in the last ten minutes. The Sens scrambled to gain possession of the puck in their own end and several times the Sens failed to clear the puck when it should have been done. It was a miracle the Jackets did not tie the game. |

People need to relax on obsessing with the shot totals. Zone time is more of a concern. The team has really done a solid job "protecting the house". It has been their main focus in their own zone coverage. This has lead to more time in their zone but lessened the quality scoring chances they gave up last year.
They trust their goalie to make the first save if they see it. Really how many rebound.chances have they given up this year. Now it's just a matter of bettering their puck retrieval.
I love the battle in Lehner but really hate his rebound control. He puked out several bad rebounds last night that lead to more havoc(the Lazar goal a prime example). Luckily his defence boxed out the Jackets nicely. Walmsley will continue to work at refining this aspect of his game.
Zbad needs a zkick in the ass. I mentioned that I really didn't like his camp and it seems it has carried over to the regular season.
Lovin Philly's game. Hope the gas tank doesn't empty before Methot returns. That would be ideal timing. He was a warrior last night.
The Hoff needs to play. Sorry Eric and Colin, the only lineup change I can see is Cowen drawing back in against the Leafs. |

Sens carried the play up until the last five minutes. Ryan and Leggy had a couple of miscues that lead to extended zone time. Jackets were playing well and the Sens were trying to hold fort. Pretty much the reverse of the Nashville game. Sens carried the play in the last part of the third that game and fell short.
Pretty much the script in most one goal games between two close teams.

I've mentioned all this weeks ago.
The Zibanejad line needs to be reconstructed. There's going to be a time, and it's going to be fairly soon, that this team is going to need more goal scoring. As of now, the Zibanejad line hasn't and the chances of them to produce, in the future if no changes are made, is very slim. These are my proposed lineups:
MacArthur-Turris-Stone
Ryan-Zibanejad-Lazar
Hoffman-Legwand-Chiasson
Michalek-Smith-Neil/Condra |

I also noticed an issue in Lehner's game.
When the puck reaches the trapezoid, he passes it to his defensemen who are unable to handle it due to what I'm guessing is the speed and wobbliness of the puck, which then creates a turnover in their own zone by the opposing fore check.
Anderson doesn't do this, he leaves the puck behind the net, and lets the defensemen pick it up and drive the play up. |

Weren't people always complaining that Mac would break up lines too quickly? Now he's leaving them alone for a period of time, and they want him to do exactly that?
Just saying. I too am a little concerned with this lines production, but curious what alternatives there are. |

Hm, I'd be willing to give this a go.
Hoffman and Legand looked good together last night. |

That's an interesting idea. Maybe a cowen, prince, chiasson and Dallas 2nd would get that done. Maybe Petry available too? |

I think if the Methot negotiations don't work out, the best thing to do is to either package trade him to Edmonton or Colorado for another top-9 player. Maybe even move Michalek and Greening as well. |

Wtf are you talking about? Trading Ryan after they signed him long-term. The league would be laughing their bums off at that. My bad, I think before trading for another winger, they should give Lazar and Hoffman a shot at the top-6; if no chemistry is to be found then you're suggested plan is decent, although, I wouldn't trade Zbad yet. The kid has the potential to be a 1C if he uses his skills and talent at propos. |

I really like zbads potential big strong and fast but sometimes you gotta give up something good to get something good , and with edmontons struggels there bound for a big shake up .. a winger like eberle , or nugent on a 2nd line not 1st like he is in Edmonton.. there's a fire sale and I think ottawa has pieces to grab another star |
